August Monthly Ride

Back to Bristol Tap!  All the memories of our first get togethers came trickling back to me.  And I don’t know what makes them so good but I just love the burgers there.  As always, Jeff expertly lead us out to the Shabbona Lake State Park where we sat in the shade and re-hydrated while discussing the differences between small and large mouth bass before someone said something about dairy forcing us to leave our retreat in search of Ollie’s Frozen Custard in Sycamore.  Illinois may be flat but we’ve been lucky enough to keep finding ways to keep it from being boring.  Or is that talent?

Next meeting September 8th

Back to Saturday for football season.  We’ll be meeting at the shop at 11 and turning towards the lake for lunch at the Sportsman’s Landing.  Cheese curds and fish’n’chips to tide us over on our way to… now let me make sure I get this right…  The worlds best something something frozen… After that we’ve got a beautiful route through the Kettle Morain Forest from the north end zig zagging all the way back to Marengo where several of us will be eating dinner before heading home making this a 200 mile day.

Upcoming Events

September 1st is our Labor Day Ride.  It’s time to visit the infamous Poopy’s in Savannah, IL.  A dozen people have signed up to ride on to Anamosa, Iowa to visit the International Motorcycle Museum.

Be sure to check the forums for more rides, I know there’s several benefit rides in September and there will likely be more day trips popping up here and there as people take advantage of the weather.
